Staff Well-being at TWS

We believe in looking after our team.

The Wren has a growing culture of supporting staff well-being which is outlined through our staff well-being charter, titled Looking after our team @ TWS. At The Wren, we have reviewed policies, such as our ‘old’ marking policy and since January 2021 this was replaced with a feedback policy, in addition to this we have reviewed our processes around reporting to ensure that we are being considerate of workload and well-being with what we ask of staff through working smart and ensuring all data gathered is useful moving forwards.

In addition, we prove how seriously we take well-being through commitments to:

  • Each colleague is entitled to a wellbeing day once a year.
  • Teaching staff engage in twilight professional development sessions to replace INSET days, which allows two further days at home each year.
  • We pay our teaching staff the ‘London Fringe’ allowance.
  • We have access to exceptional professional development both in-house and across the Trust through our EAT Professional Learning resource.
  • We commit to coaching and all staff can access coaching if suitable.
  • We commit to performance development which focuses on developing you in your role to become an exceptional professional.
  • Staff Wellness Room: A work free space for moments of rest and relaxation.

The Wellbeing Charter – Looking After our Team @ TWS

Launched in September 2023, our wellbeing charter was developed by the leadership team in collaboration with the well-being committee.

We are pleased to report that The Wren was judged to be at the ‘Expected Standard’ in six out of seven categories, with its safeguarding standards fully met, following its latest Ofsted inspection in April 2026.

Ofsted highlighted the wonderful culture of our school, noting:

“Pupils are extremely proud of their school. They appreciate how staff want the very best for them.”
